Scaffolding in Portsmouth Portfolio
It’s only fair that potential customers get to view examples of previous projects undertaken by the company they’re thinking of hiring. Here are some of our recent Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quays and Southsea work examples:
New build pharmacy, Gunwharf Quays
Our teams were involved at the design stage to provide a Portsmouth scaffold solution for the construction of a new steel framed building. A scaffolding in Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays structure was provided for the rising brickwork and block work to the external walls and edge protection handrails were erected from powered access, including a ladder access tower to install the new roof covering.
Our scaffolding Portsmouth and Southsea erectors provided platforms to a high level stairwell and all lifts were boarded and hand railed for the renewal of the glass and cladding. We covered the scaffolding with monaflex sheeting to protect the building while the work was carried out. A beamed gantry scaffolding was also erected at low level to span over the lower roof to enable the structure to be erected at Portsmouth University.
New build housing site, Pompey
Progressive scaffolds for new build houses and flats was provided in Portsmouth, including loading bays for the storage of materials. We built birdcage scaffolds at all floor levels to act as edge protection while the floor joists were installed. Once the new roof was installed, we adapted the external scaffolding to include boarded working lifts to allow Portsmouth trades contractors to undertake rendering and tile hanging work.
Portsmouth train station
We worked on this Portsmouth project to provide a hanging scaffolding positioned underneath the existing platforms for the refurbishment of the steelworks. This Portsmouth structure was connected to the lower steel work using steel clamps and a fully boarded work platform was installed using alloy beams to span across the platforms to provide a safe working area. A Haki staircase was provided to access the hanging platform from the station area above.
Balcony work, Fratton
As part of a Portsmouth Council refurbishment project, we built scaffolding structures on the rear of a large block of flats so that the balcony coverings could be renewed. The platforms covered ten storeys and included boarded lifts and a ladder access tower. The structure was tied to the building using Hilti type ties, drilled to the building for stability.
St Mary`s Hospital, Portsea Island, Hampshire
Design scaffolding was erected on the existing wing of the hospital, with all lifts boarded up to roof level for window replacement. A temporary roof structure using a pre-fabricated roofing system was provided to cover the occupied building while a new roof covering was installed. A goods hoist was used to move materials from ground level to various levels for the window replacements and new roof installation.
Southern Water, Portsmouth
We provided scaffold platforms inside the water works so that cooling fans could be renewed, with fittings hung from the walkways positioned inside the water tanks. Tube and fitting scaffold platforms were provided, with all lifts boarded and handrailed to access the fans. Ladder accesses were also provided inside the hanging platforms to gain access to the work.
New build swimming pool, Cosham
A scaffolding birdcage was used to cover the swimming pool area just outside Portsmouth, using alloy beams to span across the open area, and was fully boarded to enable the mechanical and electrical contractors using aluminium towers to gain access to the roof. The boarded deck was double boarded with plastic in between to protect the new swimming pool and ply boarded to make a flat and level surface for the alloy towers to move across.
